Xbox One users were surprised Thursday when an ‘Overwatch’ update was made available, only to be more surprised to find the game bugged beyond playability.
A new character, Ana, was included in the latest patch, but users firing down the scope of her Biotic Rifle caused the game to crash and restart. With nearly all users wanting to experiment with the game’s first expansion character, the game, which has topped new release sales since it’s release in late May, is now virtually unplayable on Xbox One consoles.
The patch was released with success for PC users on Tuesday, with no immediate date announced for consoles. The patch for Playstation 4 arrived without problems Thursday afternoon, with the bugged Xbox update following shortly after.
It took Blizzard around three hours to correct the issues.
Overwatch is a team-based first-person shooter, and has little to offer players in terms of offline play. Be sure to stay updated with the official ‘Overwatch’ Twitter account, or check forum posts from ‘Overwatch’ Game Director Jeff Kaplan.
