Pokémon Go is an instant phenomenon, within one week becoming the biggest mobile game in the world. Unlike any Pokémon game in years, it has captured the imagination of players everywhere, truly making them feel like Pokémon masters.
It has particularly become a hit on social media; because the game is free-to-play, and because it’s so easy to share screenshots, Facebook, Twitter and Reddit are all on fire with hilarious memes and with trash talking between the game’s three teams. Catching Pokemon
Unlike any Pokémon game so far, Pokémon Go has gotten players everywhere absolutely obsessed with catching them all, and finally the phrase “I will travel across the land, searching far and wide” has become literal. Competing With Other Teams
Pokémon Go encourages fierce competition among gamers, who are divided into three teams: Instinct, Mystic and Valor. After choosing sides, players must compete to capture gyms for their team, and just about everyone has become extremely devoted to their group.
Team Valor
Team Valor, represented by the color red, has earned a reputation in the online community for being far more competitive than the other two, to the point that Team Instinct and Team Mystic are often united in their hatred for Valor. Team Valor also often captures gyms at night while everyone is sleeping.
Team Mystic
Team Mystic, represented by the color blue, is the most popular team of the three, with its belief system driven by wisdom and tranquility. They often compare themselves to House Stark from Game of Thrones.
Team Instinct
Team Instinct is the least popular team of the three, and many jokes are made at its expense for that reason. Still, its underdog status only makes it more appealing to its members.
