Here are the top 10 tips/tricks/cheats you need to know for Edo Superstar.

1. Choose Your Fighting Style

• As you level up, you can improve four different stats: Strength, Speed, Defense and Special. Strength and Speed allow you to deal more damage or move faster, respectively. However, if you want an extra challenge try leveling up Defense and Special first.

2. Learn Enemy Attack Patterns

• Each enemy has four or five main attacks. Once you learn their martial arts style, you can dominate in combat – until you encounter new enemy types and have to learn their technique as well.

3. Embrace the Chaos

• In many levels, enemies will try to overwhelm you with superior numbers. Don’t let yourself get surrounded. You can also turn those numbers against them by slamming enemies into each other.

4. Keep Moving

• Masaru’s greatest advantage over enemies is his speed. Most of his opponents might be stronger, but that doesn’t matter if they can’t hit him. Remember to dodge, roll and jump around in order to avoid getting hit and to keep ‘em guessing.

5. Speed is Key

• Being nimble with the touch screen is also essential. Short, quick swipes will work better than slower, methodical ones – both because you’ll be able to move Masaru around faster and because they’ll register on the touch screen better.

6. Use Items Wisely

• There are many useful power-ups to give you a fighting edge. Explore every corner of the world to discover secret items, or save up your gold to buy them. Food will revive your health, while amulets will temporarily give you a massive combat boost. Items can be scarce, so it’s wise to save them for difficult levels and bosses.

7. Listen to Your Manager

• As you travel the road to fame and glory, you will be guided by your talent manager, Chuubei. He knows the ins and outs of fighting. Heeding his advice will help you play at your best.

8. More Stars Means More Experience

• As you finish each level, you will be rewarded a score of one, two or three stars. Maxing out each level with a triple-star score will help you level faster.

9. Perfect is Just the Beginning

• After you master a level with a triple-star score, you’ll unlock that level’s Superstar Challenge. Each of the game’s fifty levels has a unique challenge, and if you complete enough Superstar Challenges you’ll be rewarded with powerful fighting suits that boost your abilities even more.

10. Study Up

• As Masaru gains levels, he’ll steadily learn some new moves. Take a moment to familiarize yourself with how to pull them off, so that you can put them to good use later.
