With the Destiny 2 Beta officially over, there is less than two months before the full game officially releases. If you are looking to pick up this title, a new pre-order bonus has officially been revealed in a rather stylish trailer. Dubbed the ColdHeart, this weapon will be given to any player who pre-orders a copy of Destiny 2 regardless of what system it is on. It does not matter which edition of the game you own or if it’s a physical or digital copy of this title.
While details on the actual weapon are scarce, we do know it’s a beam weapon that appears to use Arc damage against foes. Since there is no “ice” elemental type, this is probably the closest developer Bungie could get to implementing a completely new element into the game. The weapon itself looks gorgeous and clearly harkens back to not only the famed Icebreaker from the original Destiny, but the Beam Rifles in Halo 2. We do know that Coldheart will be obtainable in-game starting December 5, so don’t fret if you are not comfortable pre-ordering the game right now.
In other Destiny 2 news, IGN continued to show off exclusive content for this game in the form of Public Events and the mysterious Lost Sectors. From the 7 minute video, it’s clear that these Lost Sectors are designed to act as mini dungeons and reward players who are willing to go off the beaten path. This is aiming to add more to the general worlds of Destiny 2 and give players a chance to obtain more loot.
World Quests were also revealed, which act as mini side-quests that users can stumble upon during their travels. It’s clear that Bungie is trying to add more depth to these worlds and make them serve more of a purpose than a simple backdrop.
