An unaired preliminary card lightweight bout from last weekend’s “Strikeforce: Heavy Artillery” between Lyle “Fancy Pants” Beerbohm and Vitor “Shaolin” Ribeiro will be streaming at Strikeforce.com tomorrow for fans who were unable to be in St. Louis for the close fight. The stream is set for 6 p.m. ET/ 3p.m. PT and can be found at the official website of the promotion.
The bout ended with a split-decision victory for “Fancy Pants” after the two competitors fought for all three rounds in a highly-contested technical battle. The decision did not come without controversy, however, as many felt Ribeiro did more to earn a victory. Beerbohm was the aggressor early in the fight, but as the bout wore on, Ribeiro was constantly threatening with his outstanding submission and grappling prowess. The final scores from the judges came in with an awkward 30-27, 28-29, 30-27 victory for Beerbohm.
