The Showtime broadcast of “Strikeforce: Houston” drew an estimated average of 367,000 viewers, peaking at 470,000 viewers during the main event of the evening which featured a light heavyweight championship bout between Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal and Rafael Cavalcante.

MMAjunkie.com confirmed the news with industry sources earlier today.

Strikeforce: Houston” featured the aforementioned light heavyweight title tilt that saw Cavalcante earn the belt with a technical knockout victory in the third round. The card also featured a co-main event between Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza and Tim Kennedy for the vacant middleweight title.

The event ranks third in terms of ratings for Strikeforce events in 2010. “Strikeforce: Miami” and “Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Werdum” took the first and second spots on the list, respectively. Fortunately for Showtime and the promotion, the event doubled the numbers from the abysmal amount of viewers drawn by “Strikeforce: Los Angeles”.
