Rafael Natal withdraws from “UFC on Versus 3” bout

Rafael Natal has withdrawn from his middleweight bout against Alessio Sakara at “UFC on Versus 3” due to injury.

Versus.com was the first to report the news after speaking with sources close to the fight.

Natal has struggled in the Ultimate Fighting Championship since his debut loss against Rich Attonito at “UFC Fight Night: Marquardt vs. Palhares.” He followed up the loss with a majority draw against Jesse Bongfeldt at UFC 124.

Meanwhile, Sakara finds himself without an opponent yet again. His original opponent, Maiquel Falcao, was forced out of their scheduled bout as well. The striker is currently on a three-fight winning streak, including victories over James Irvin and Thales Leites, and now must wait for another opponent.

“UFC on Versus 3” is set for March 3 at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Kentucky and features a main event between welterweights Martin Kampmann and Diego Sanchez. There is no word yet as to who may step in against Sakara, or if the middleweight will be moved to another card.
