B.J. Penn and Jon Fitch aren’t looking down the road at a title shot.

The next fight is always the biggest fight of a fighter’s career, and that’s the mentality of UFC 127 main event fighters B.J. Penn and Jon Fitch.

“I’m not thinking about titles,” Penn said on a media conference call on Tuesday. “I’m just happy to fight an opponent of Jon Fitch’s level and Jon Fitch’s stature.”

“I really don’t want to waste any time thinking about anything other than fighting B.J. right now,” said Fitch. “He’s such a dangerous opponent, been around for so long. If I don’t give him full attention and full focus, that would be a huge mistake.”

“I’ve got a job to do on the 26th and that’s beat B.J. Penn, and that is all I care about right now,” added Fitch.

Penn is a former UFC welterweight and lightweight champion. Fitch has been ranked as the No. 2 welterweight in the world by most for the last two years.

UFC 127 takes place on Feb. 26 at the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia.
