UFC 132 Fight Card: Njokuani vs. Winner Official For July

Anthony Njokuani

Njokuani vs. Winner on tap for UFC 132

A lightweight bout between Anthony Njokuani and Andre Winner is official for UFC 132.

UFC officials announced the match up earlier today.

Njokuani, a WEC veteran, is coming off a close decision loss to Edson Barboza at UFC 128, where he displayed his potential as a UFC lightweight fighter. Prior to that fight, the striker went 4-3 in the WEC.

Winner, who has a bit more UFC experience, is a former “Ultimate Fighter” runner-up and has competed in five UFC bouts. But his UFC 122 decision loss to Dennis Siver has put him at 2-3 under the top-level promotion’s banner. Prior to that fight, Nik Lentz out-wrestled him to a unanimous decision victory.

UFC 132 will serve as the Fourth of July show for the promotion, as the MGM Grand Garden Arena will play host on July 2. A bantamweight championship bout between title-holder Dominick Cruz and top contender Urijah Faber will serve as the evening’s featured event.
