Soszynski replaces Perosh, meets Pokrajic at UFC 131
Light heavyweight Krzysztof Soszynski has stepped in for an injured Anthony Perosh against Igor Pokrajic at UFC 131 this June.
The promotion announced the news last night.
Soszynski last fought at UFC 122 in Oberhausen, Germany against Goran Reljic, earning a unanimous decision victory. The fight served as a successful rebound from a technical knockout loss to Stephan Bonnar back at UFC 116 in July of last year.
Like his replacement opponent, Pokrajic just recently found redemption after a loss to Bonnar. The runner-up from “The Ultimate Fighter’s” first season defeated the Croatian via unanimous decision at “The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale.” Following the loss, Pokrajic defeated Todd Brown by technical knockout at “UFC on Versus 3.”
The light heavyweight contest is set for the preliminary card of the June 11 event in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The card features a heavyweight tilt between former champion Brock Lesnar and knockout artist Junior dos Santos, which will determine the man to fight Cain Velasquez in the champion’s first title defense.
