Marquardt hearing set for July 13
Nate Marquardt‘s suspension will not be indefinite much longer.
Today, MMAjunkie.com reported that the former middleweight top contender and now ex-UFC employee will have his hearing held on July 13 in front of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission. On that date, the PSAC will review the case and issue a suspension.
The hearing comes just over two weeks following Marquardt’s failed physical prior to “UFC on Versus 4” that ultimately lead to his release from the UFC by president Dana White. The situation was a result of testosterone-replacement therapy that the 185 lb. contender was going through, and he was unable to compete against Rick Story in the evening’s main event.
Marquardt and his manager hope for the suspension to be lifted after the Commission reviews medical documents that allegedly prove the therapy was not performance enhancing.
