Tournament promotion finally moves to high-def
Bellator fans have clamored for high-definition broadcasts since the inception of the company. Starting with the kick-off of the 5th season on Sept. 10, they’ll finally get their chance.
The promotion today announced that premium cable channel Epix HD will simulcast all Bellator programming on MTV2 in glorious high definition.
“This is the perfect time and the perfect channel to introduce Bellator in high-definition,” said Bellator Chairman & CEO Bjorn Rebney. “EPIX has fantastic programming, tremendous reach and I always find a great movie on their channel. I look forward to continuing our relationship with MTV2 and our new partnership with EPIX to bring the magic of HD to Bellator fans nationwide.”
The debut episode of Bellator on Epix will be Bellator 49. The card features four welterweight tournament fights. Former UFC star Ben Saunders is the most notable name on the card, while top prospect Douglas Lima also makes his debut in the main event against Steve Carl.
