Featherweights booked for June 22 card
A featherweight bout between top prospects Jimy Hettes and Steven Siler is official for UFC on FX: Maynard vs. Guida in Atlantic City, N.J., on June 22.
The promotion announced the fight booking on Friday.
Hettes, undefeated as a professional, stormed onto the UFC scene last August with a dominant submission win over Alex “Bruce Leeroy” Caceres. He followed that victory with his second under the Zuffa banner, defeating Nam Phan at UFC 141 at the promotion’s final show of 2011.
Meanwhile, Siler has also found success early in his UFC career. He debuted against Josh Clopton at the Season 14 Finale of “The Ultimate Fighter” in Las Vegas, earning a unanimous decision nod from the judges. He won his next contest via unanimous decision, defeating Cole Miller at UFC on FX: Alves vs. Kampmann earlier this year.
UFC on FX 4 will be the UFC’s first show in Atlantic City since UFC 53 in June 2005. The event will be the UFC’s seventh in Atlantic City, a city known for hosting major boxing events. The first three took place at the Trump Taj Mahal, followed by three at the Boardwalk Hall.
