Welterweights set to collide on summer FX event
A 170-pound showdown between Mike Pyle and Josh Neer is likely for June 8 at UFC on FX 3.
Pyle confirmed the news in an interview with FightChurch.com.
Pyle, who has had his share of ups and downs in the UFC, is coming off a technical knockout victory over Ricardo Funch at UFC 142. The win came five months after a disappointing technical knockout loss to top prospect Rory MacDonald, who dominated Pyle for the entirety of the short contest.
Meanwhile, Neer looks to continue working toward contention after returning to the UFC just last year. He is currently on a six-fight winning streak, including wins against Keith Wisniewski and Duane Ludwig, his first two bouts in the UFC since October 2009.
The two likely will meet at UFC on FX 3, which is set for June 8 at a location still to be determined. Among the fights booked for the card is a rematch between flyweights Demetrious Johnson and Ian McCall.
