Brock Lesnar Return To UFC Not Looking Good

Brock Lesnar

Dana White Calls Brock Lesnar Meeting Worst Ever

UFC 146 was all about the heavyweights.

Junior dos Santos retained his championship with a knockout over Frank Mir, Cain Velasquez earned a rematch with the champ after slicing through Antonio Silva, and Roy Nelson blasted Dave Herman with that powerful overhand right of his.

But Brock Lesnar sitting just a few rows outside the cage was as big a highlight as anything that happened inside the eight walls.

Lesnar received some air time during the event, giving everyone in the arena and watching on pay-per-view a good look at the man who retired from the sport after a UFC 141 loss to Alistair Overeem. However, at that time, it was unclear why he was there, sparking rumors that he and Dana White were to meet about a potential return.

Many thought a return could be linked to his current employer, Vince McMahon of the WWE, and a potential storyline for the wrestling company.

McMahon’s surprise and outrage at the meeting between Lesnar and White, seems to say something very different.

Still, Lesnar was not in violation of his contract for attending UFC 146 and meeting with White, as indications are his contract is non-exclusive. Unfortunately for the fans eagerly awaiting a return, there is a different barrier.

Following Friday night’s “UFC on FX 3,” Ariel Helwani asked White the question on every fan’s mind, inquiring about the meeting with the former heavyweight champion.

White did not pull any punches, explaining that the meeting did not go well at all.

“The meeting we had didn’t really go very well,” White said. “It wasn’t a great meeting. It was probably one of the worst meetings we have ever had with Brock Lesnar. And I honestly have not talked to him since, so I don’t know where we are at.”

But it appears that White and company are not the only ones struggling with Lesnar, as, according to Dave Meltzer, McMahon and the WWE had a bit of a meltdown when news reached them of the meeting.

Meltzer, citing several sources, revealed that there is a “nuclear heat” on Lesnar after sitting down with White and Lorenzo Fertitta. Meltzer went on to point out that this is likely the reason Lesnar and his storyline in the WWE have been nowhere to be found the past couple of weeks.

Furthermore, Meltzer states that Lesnar has become even more high maintenance than before leaving the WWE the first time.

With the torrential downpour of negativity from White regarding his meeting with the UFC’s biggest star to date, it seems they are not the only ones.
