St. Preux returns to Strikeforce against Cole
Former University of Tennessee defensive star Ovince St. Preux returns to Strikeforce this August at “Strikeforce: Rousey vs. Kaufman.
The promotion announced the news earlier today.
St. Preux faces fellow prospect T.J. Cook on the August 18 card, set for the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, California.
A women’s bantamweight title bout between champion Ronda Rousey and Sarah Kaufman will serve as the evening’s headliner. The main card broadcasts live on Showtime.
St. Preux last competed at the end of 2011 against former champion Gegard Mousasi, losing to the veteran in a bout that could have pushed him into a potential title fight. The loss cut short an eight-fight winning streak for the former collegiate football player.
Facing St. Preux, Cole prepares to get back in the win column after losing to Trevor Smith at “Strikeforce Challengers 20” in November of last year. He also saw a lengthy winning streak ended in that fight.
