“UFC on FX 5” takes place in Minneapolis, Minnesota on October 5. The event’s headliner features heavyweights Antonio Silva and Travis Browne.

Simpson last competed at “UFC on FUEL TV 4,” earning a unanimous decision victory over Kenny Robertson. The bout was Simpson’s first since dropping down from middleweight.

Meanwhile, Pierce earned a unanimous decision victory of his own at “UFC on FX 3,” defeating Carlos Eduardo Rocha on the evening’s preliminary card.
