I have to admit. When I first heard about this film and its premise, I wasn’t immediately bought.
I was thinking this thing would be a romanticism of the ‘zombie genre’, akin to what Twilight has done with the ‘vampire genre’. But, I have to admit now, after seeing this trailer: I want to see this film.
It’s the humor in it that appeals to me, the same way Shaun of the dead and Zombieland did, and I like both of those films.
Warm Bodies seems to be cut from the same cloth as those two films; a bit of horror/action mixed a delightful spoonful of tongue-in-cheek humor and sarcastic gutturals. I can definitely go for another spin on that kind of Ferris Wheel.
Will the film be as good as the trailer looks? Well, it’s helmed by Jonathan Levine, who also directed 50/50 and The Wackness, two films I enjoyed. So, my money would be on this being a joyful, zombified ride.
Oh, and Rob Corddry and John Malkovich are in it too, so, that right there might be worth the price of admission.
