New On Netflix: Enter The Dragon

Bruce Lee‘s final film might very well be the best martial arts movie ever made — and that is pretty much that. Lee plays a monk (named Lee) who’s invited to participate in a martial arts contest being held on a remote island — he accepts both the invitation and the unofficial recruitment by British Intelligence to keep an eye on the guy who runs the contest, a shady fellow suspected of drug trafficking, prostitution, you name it. The opening scene in the Shaolin monastery (a sequence written and directed by Lee himself) is amazing enough, but it just keeps getting better — and look fast for Jackie Chan as a guard in the underground lair who gets his neck snapped by Lee. The film was released in Hong Kong six days after Lee’s death on July 26, 1973.
