Future is back to being honest. Brutally honest.

Prior to the release of HNDRXX, his second album in as many weeks, Future sat down for an interview with Zane Lowe and Beats 1 Radio. In it, he discussed how the album is his most personal to date, and that its everything his sophomore effort Honest (2014) should have been. The Atlanta rapper also said that he there was a song that he felt would stir up some controversy, saying “It might get more attention that I want it to get. It might get the wrong attention, it might get great attention. Who knows?” He added that “I just know it’s a song I feel good about. This is not me holding anything back.”

Now that HNDRXX is out and available for streaming, we can confirm that Future lived up to his personal theme. The album is filled with intimate declarations and self-effacing moments, like “Sorry” and the Rihanna duet “Selfish,” but the one that’s turning most heads in terms of lyrical content is the opening track: “My Collection.”

Over a warbling, wistful sample, Future addresses his past relationship with the mother of his child and his ex-fiancé, Ciara. it’s obvious the rapper still has some bitterness to let loose, and he does so without haste or concerns of being too blunt. “She told me she was an angel, she f*cked two rappers and three singers,” he raps in the opening bars, referencing Ciara’s past ties to musicians like Bow Wow, Ludacris, 50 Cent, and Trey Songz.

From there, Future digs into Ciara’s motivations for getting involved with him, musing “I don’t know how you would feel about me if I ain’t have millions,” and the fact that “she got a few athletes on speed dial,” poking fun at Ciara’s claim that she was seeing football player Russell Wilson before her breakup with Future. The “Mask Off” rapper also mocks their publicized court battle, and all but affirms that he cheated on Ciara, thus ruining the relationship. One thing’s abundantly clear: he’s not interested in making up anytime soon.

“Even if I hit you once, you part of my collection,” he croons over the demeaning, brutal chorus. Fans on Twitter have instantly taken note of this ear-catching opener, and shared their reactions accordingly. Check out some of the best ones below.
