Delon Wright: Breaking News

Waived by Indiana

The Pacers waived Wright (head) on Thursday. Wright suffered a head injury in Tuesday's preseason game against the Timberwolves and wasn't able to make much of an impact in his limited time. In a related move, the Pacers are bringing in Cameron Payne on a training camp deal.

Won't return vs. Minnesota

Wright (head) won't return to Tuesday's preseason game against the Timberwolves, Jeremiah Johnson of FanDuel Sports Network Indiana reports. Wright bumped heads with an opposing player in the second quarter and exited to the locker room before being ruled out for the remainder of the game. He'll finish with two points (0-1 FG, 2-2 FT) across four minutes. The veteran guard's next opportunity to play will come Saturday against Oklahoma City.

Exits to locker room vs. Minnesota

Wright exited to the locker room after sustaining an apparent head injury in the second quarter of Tuesday's preseason game against Minnesota, Chris Hine of the Minnesota Star Tribune reports. Wright bumped heads with an opposing player and hit the floor hard before being helped to the locker room. If the veteran guard doesn't return, Quenton Jackson, RayJ Dennis and Taelon Peter are candidates for an uptick in playing time the rest of the way.
