Ryan chipped in one rebound in two minutes during Saturday's 139-126 loss to Chicago. Ryan cracked the rotation for just the 11th time this season, bringing his total to 49 minutes for the campaign. The Knicks are known for running a very shallow rotation, making Ryan a non-factor moving forward.
Back with New York on two-way pact
The Knicks re-signed Ryan to a two-way contract on Tuesday. New York waived the 27-year-old from its 15-man roster Sunday to make room for Landry Shamet, but after clearing waivers, Ryan will be brought back just a couple days later to fill one of the team's three two-way slots. Ryan has appeared in nine games for the Knicks this season, averaging 1.7 points across 5.0 minutes.

Ryan was recalled by the Knicks on Saturday. This move comes just days after Ryan was sent to the G League for what will now be a one-game stint with the Westchester Knicks. He recorded 18 points (6-11 FG, 4-8 3PT,2-2 FT, three rebounds and two steals across 32 minutes in Friday's 116-109 victory over the College Park Skyhawks. He will now be available to play a depth forward role for New York in Sunday's game in Orlando should he ultimately be called upon.
Returns to G League
The Knicks assigned Ryan to the G League's Westchester Knicks on Friday. Ryan has bounced back and forth between the NBA and G League in the past few days. However, Ryan has yet to make an appearance for Westchester.
Brief trip to G League
New York recalled Ryan from the G League's Westchester Knicks on Thursday. Ryan, Tyler Kolek and Pacome Dadiet were all assigned Thursday morning before being recalled in the afternoon. Westchester didn't have a game, so the trio presumably practiced with the G League squad. Ryan has appeared in eight NBA games this season but hasn't played more than nine minutes in any of those contests.
Signs deal with Knicks
Ryan agreed to a contract with the Knicks on Monday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports. Ryan was recently selected as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 G League Draft by the Knicks' affiliate in Westchester, but he'll get moved up to the parent club to fill the 14th spot on the 15-man roster. A career 41.1 percent shooter from beyond the arc over parts of three seasons in the NBA, Ryan will provide the Knicks with additional floor spacing, but he's not guaranteed to be regularly featured in head coach Tom Thibodeau's rotation.
