Terry Rozier: Breaking News

Officially let go by Miami

The Heat waived Rozier on Friday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports. Miami had placed Rozier on paid leave back in October after he was arrested as part of an FBI sports-betting probe. His arrest stemmed from his allegedly participation in an illegal sports-betting scheme back in 2023, while he was playing with the Hornets. The NBA conducted an investigation into the matter last January but ultimately didn't find a violation of its rules. Where the 32-year-old Rozier's career goes from here is unclear, but he hasn't seen NBA action since the 2024-25 campaign.

Expected to be released

The Heat are planning to release Rozier in the near future, Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald reports. Chiang expects this to be done in the coming weeks and notes that Rozier will not be on the postseason roster. He's been away from the team since being arrested back in October as part of a federal investigation related to sports gambling.

Placed on leave

The NBA placed Rozier on immediate leave from the Heat on Thursday, ESPN's Shams Charania reports. Rozier was arrested Thursday morning as part of an FBI sports betting probe, and the NBA is acting quickly while this investigation gets underway. As of now, there is no known timetable for Rozier's potential return, as this could be a lengthy process.
