Marquis Haynes: Breaking News

Adds assist Thursday

Iafallo notched an assist and two PIM in Thursday's 2-1 loss to the Predators. Iafallo has earned a point in five of his last eight games. The 31-year-old winger played in a middle-six role when the Jets had injury concerns up front, but he's been back on the fourth line lately, which limits his scoring potential. For the season, Iafallo is at 20 points, 79 shots on net, 42 blocked shots, 15 PIM and a plus-14 rating through 60 appearances, serving as a decent depth player, though not to a level that would lead to making him helpful in most fantasy formats.

Let go by Carolina

The Panthers released Haynes on Tuesday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports. Haynes signed with the Panthers on Oct. 12 and played in the team's last two games. He registered four tackles (three solo) during the Panthers' Week 7 loss to the Commanders on Sunday, but it appears he is no longer a part of Carolina's plans this season. Haynes, who was selected by the Panthers in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft, will look for his next opportunity elsewhere.

Links up with Arizona

The Cardinals signed Haynes to a contract Tuesday. The move corresponds with the Cardinals placing BJ Ojulari (knee) on injured reserve Monday. Haynes spent the first six years of his NFL career with the Panthers after being drafted in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He missed the first nine regular-season games of 2023 due to a back injury, and he was ruled out for the season finale due to a concussion he sustained in Week 17. Haynes' most productive campaign came in 2022, when he accumulated 29 tackles (20 solo), including 5.0 sacks, along with four passes defended and a fumble recovery for a touchdown across 17 regular-season games.
