Patriots’ Day is going to be a busy one in Boston. It always is.

The 119th running of the Boston Marathon is on that day – Monday, April 20 – and is expected to draw about half a million spectators.

Meb Keflezighi of California won the men’s open division a year ago, his first Boston victory. Keflezighi was also the first to cross the finish line in the 2009 New York City Marathon.

Rita Jeptoo, who has won two-straight women’s open races and set a course record with a time of 2:18:57 last year, was given a two-year doping ban in January in her native Kenya.

The Boston Athletic Association said then in a statement they would re-evaluate Jeptoo’s victories.

The Boston Red Sox traditionally host an early game on Patriots’ Day as well. This year the Red Sox host the Baltimore Orioles with a first pitch scheduled for 11:05 a.m.
