Shaka Smart was introduced as the new head basketball coach at University of Texas. He accepted a seven year contract, with six years and $18 million guaranteed by Texas, more than doubling his salary from Virginia Commonwealth. He coached the Rams for six years, making the Final Four in 2011, the first Final Four in school history.
