Even in the land of giants, IBF, WBA, WBO, IBO and RING heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko still stands tall. Towering at 6-feet 6-inches (98cm), only two of today’s top-10 fighters in the division can say that they look down on the titanic Ukrainian (stats courtesy of boxrec.com):

Wladimir Klitschko         6’ 6”

Alexander Povetkin       6′ 2″

Tyson Fury                     6′ 9″

Deontay Wilder              6′ 7″

Vyacheslav Glazkov     6′ 3″

Kubrat Pulev                  6′ 4½″

Tony Thompson            6′ 5″

Antonio Tarver               6′ 2″

Bryant Jennings            6′ 3″

Bermane Stiverne         6′ 2″

The record for tallest heavyweight world champion is held by Russian Nikolai Valuev, who stood at a colossal 7 feet (213cm), weighed in at 323 pounds (23 stone), and had a reach of 85 inches. Valuev holds victories over champs Siarhei Liakhovich, and Evander Holyfield.

In 2005 Valuev outpointed rugged John Ruiz, only 6-foot 2-inches, to lift the WBA world heavyweight title. Check out the David-and-Goliath matchup here:

Klitschko fights Bryant Jennings on Saturday at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The fight will air on HBO’s World Championship Boxing at 10:00 PM ET/PT.
