The quarterfinal round of the Copa America begins Wednesday. Chile and Uruguay will face one another at the Estadio Nacional for a spot in the semifinals.
One of the talking points of the tournament so far actually occurred off the field. Chilean midfielder Arturo Vital crashed his Ferrari while under the influence of alcohol. The incident resulted in his license being revoked, but he returned to action for the next match, a 5-0 win over Bolivia.
Vidal’s presence will be needed, because Chile has high hopes of capturing its first Copa America title. Homefield advantage has worked out thus far; with smog also an issue in the country.
Uruguay are in the rare position of underdogs heading into the match, but are hopeful of springing an upset.
