The 53rd annual National Hockey League Entry Draft begins Friday night, June 26th, at 7 p.m. ET and will be broadcast over two days on the NBC Sports Network, SportsNet, NHL Network and TVA Sports.
The 2015 NHL Draft will take place from the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida — home of the Florida Panthers who selected D Aaron Ekblad with the first overall selection in last years Draft.
The Edmonton Oilers won the NHL Lottery for the 4th time in six years back in April, and moved up two slots from No. 3 to No. 1 in this years Draft. They bypassed the Buffalo Sabres who had the NHLs lowest winning percentage last season and the Western Conferences worst team by record, the Arizona Coyotes.

Trade Notes:
– The Pittsburgh Penguins’ first-round pick (16th overall) was traded to the Edmonton Oilers in the January David Perron trade.
– The New York Islanders’ first-round pick (21st overall) was traded to the Buffalo Sabres on October 27, 2013 in the Thomas Vanek trade. The Islanders had the ability to keep either their 2014 or 2015 first-round pick, and they kept their pick in last year’s Draft.
– The Nashville Predators’ first-round pick (24th overall) was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs in the February 15th, 2015 in the February Cody Franson trade.
– The St. Louis Blues’ first-round pick (25th overall) was traded to the Winnipeg Jets in the February 11th, 2015 mega trade that sent Evander Kane, Zach Bogosian and Jason Kasdorf to Buffalo in exchange for Tyler Myers, Drew Stafford, Joel Armia and Brendan Lemieux and this pick. Buffalo originally acquired the pick in a 2014 trade that sent goalie Ryan Miller to St. Louis.
– The New York Rangers’ first-round pick (28th overall) was traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning in the March 5th, 2014 trade that sent Martin St. Louis and a conditional second-round pick in 2015 to New York in exchange for Ryan Callahan, a conditional first-round pick in 2014 and a conditional seventh-round pick in 2015.
– The Tampa Bay Lightning’s first-round pick (29th overall) was traded to the Philadelphia Flyers in the March 2nd, 2015 that sent Braydon Coburn to Tampa Bay in exchange for Radko Gudas and a third-round pick in 2015.
– The Chicago Blackhawks’ first-round pick (30th overall) was traded to the Arizona Coyotes in the February 28th, 2015 trade that sent Antoine Vermette to Chicago.
