Alright Mexico, that’s one way to make some pre-championship noise.

Since losing to Japan 3-1 on Sunday, Mexico has outscored its opponents 36-4, including an 11-0 trouncing of Venezuela on Thursday night, to earn a spot in the International Championship game. Still, there’s plenty of reason for Japan to feel confident. Check it out:

Japan’s bats have slowed a bit since the regional round, scoring more than five runs just once in Williamsport. But the squad also hasn’t allowed more than five runs in a contest thanks in large part to some serious discipline on the mound.
