The 2015 Breeders’ Cup Classic endured a major shakeup when Beholder was scratched from the weekend’s premier race.
Thought to be American Pharoah’s biggest challenge, Beholder had won a trio of Grade-1 races over the last couple of months. The highly anticipated year-end race may no longer feel the same without the five-year-old mare, but with the Triple Crown winner and the only horse to beat said Triple Crown winner both still in the field, it should still be highly compelling.
