To draw, or not to draw?
That is the question Tuesday, when German and Greek powers collide at the Allianz. Both Bayern and Olympiakos are eight points clear in their domestic tables, and both can advance to the UCL Knockout stage with a draw.
Pep Guardiola has told reporters he wants to win Tuesday, but there would be a benefit to a draw. A tie would eliminate Arsenal from the Knockout phase, removing one of Bayern’s only threats from the competition. The Gunners defeated Munich 2-0 at the Emirates in October, with Bayern playing their worst football of 2015.
Although the Gunners are still alive, Guardiola is only concerned with the Greeks and the match at hand.
“We know how strong Olympiakos are,” said the ex-Barcelona boss. “They play good football. We can qualify for the next round as the top side in the group [if we win].”
