Rousey vs. Holm: Odds for UFC 193 Main Card Fights

Once upon a time, Holly Holm may have presented lots of problems for Ronda Rousey.

Early in her MMA career, Rousey was seen strictly as a submission specialist, only able to use her extensive judo background to take opponents to the ground and make them tap with with her arm-bar. As such, Holm, a former world champion boxer and kickboxer with tremendous striking skills, would presumably present quite the challenge if she could keep the fight standing.

But Rousey has evolved. In three of her last four fights, she has won via knockout. Against Bethe Correia, she showcased her improved hand speed, standing toe-to-toe with the Brazilian and knocking her out with a strike to the temple after 34 seconds. None of Rousey’s opponents have presented the kind of boxing acumen that Holm has, but the champ has proven she’s comfortable with a fight even if she doesn’t land a takedown.

As such, oddsmakers are pegging “Rowdy” as a huge favorite to stay undefeated in Melbourne this weekend. Here’s a complete look at the odds from the main card, courtesy of OddsShark.com:

UFC 193 Main Card Odds

Ronda Rousey (-1250) vs. Holly Holm (+825)

Joanna Jedrzejczyk (-1313) vs. Valerie Letourneau (+787)

Mark Hunt (-190) vs. Antonio Silva (+150)

Uriah Hall (-179) vs. Robert Whittaker (+787)

Stefan Struve (-134) vs. Jared Rosholt (+106)

Rousey vs. Holm Prop Bets

If you don’t feel like putting down over $1,200 on Rousey just to win $100, you could always go the prop-bet route. There are a bunch of them.

Rousey winning by TKO or KO is +300, while any other result is -420. Nine of Rousey’s 12 wins have come via submission, but with Holm likely working hard to keep her distance and force this to be a standing fight, most are anticipating this one ending in a knockout.

Rousey winning in the first minute of the fight is +200, while any other result is -280. Eight of Rousey’s 12 wins have come in the first 60 seconds, including the last three overall.

Finally, Holm making it through all five rounds is at +1150, while the fight ending anytime before that is -2125. Three of Holm’s last four fights have gone the distance (including both of her UFC fights), so this is probably the best route if you want a huge potential payoff. With Rousey on the other side of the Octagon, though, it’s still very unlikely.
