USMNT hope to put recent struggles behind them with favorable matchups to open CONCACAF World Cup qualifying. Today’s matchup, followed by a meeting with Trinidad & Tobago next week, should start Jurgen Klinsmann’s team on the right foot moving towards Russia in 2018.
Klinsmann has steadily tinkered with USA’s roster since the World Cup, and these two games will be no different. Darlington Nagbe and Matt Miazga are two MLS standouts who have played their way onto USMNT. It’s Miazga’s first time with the senior team, so don’t expect to see him tonight. Nagbe, who scored five goals in 40 games with Portland this season, won’t start but may come on as a late substitute. Brad Guzan will start in goal tonight, while Tim Howard will get the nod Tuesday against T&T.
In the US, coverage starts at 6:30 p.m. Eastern on ESPN2. For international viewers, please click here for the local listing in your home country.
