Arsenal look to extend their table lead today, when they head to Anfield to take on Liverpool. The two played a scoreless draw early in the season, with Brendan Rodgers at the helm for Liverpool. Now Klopp’s the man at Merseyside, but he and Arsene Wenger are familiar foes on the sidelines.
Klopp and Wenger have met six times, while Klopp was managing Borussia Dortmund in UEFA competition. Wenger has three victories to Klopp’s one, when the teams met six times between 2011 and 2014.
Today the Liverpool version of Klopp’s Gegenpressing will get it’s first shot at Wenger’s controlling style. Liverpool will get some help at the back, as Kolo Toure and Mamadou Sakho are both fit to return.
Arsenal have been in great form on offense, and will soon return to full strength. Alexis Sanchez is not quite ready to return from injury, but the Chilean winger could see action this weekend against Stoke.
