WATCH: Peyton Manning Hits Owen Daniels for Early TD

Peyton Manning looked sharp to start Sunday’s AFC Championship, marching the Denver Broncos down the field in methodical fashion and finishing off the drive with an easy touchdown throw to veteran tight end Owen Daniels.

You can watch the opening score above.

As Manning has struggled for most of the season, much of the talk entering Sunday focused on the necessity for Denver’s elite defense to keep the Broncos in the game. But as many were quick to note, it looked like prime Peyton from the start:

The Broncos moved the ball 83 yards on 11 plays on the first possession, with Manning going 4-of-6 for 60 yards and the touchdown. He spread those completions out to four different receivers, while Daniels’ touchdown catch was his first since early November. But it wasn’t last of the game, as he added another TD in the second quarter:

ESPN Stats & Info put the pair of touchdowns into perspective:

Not a bad half for a couple of 30-somethings.
