Chelsea vs. PSG First Leg: Time, Channel, & Lineup

(Getty)

Chelsea and PSG are meeting in the knockout stage of the Champions League for the third straight year, but the circumstances are different in this rubber match.

Chelsea advanced in 2014 but PSG returned the favor last year, advancing on away goals after forcing a draw with ten men. Now PSG and Chelsea are two clubs moving in totally different directions, but striving towards the same goal when they meet Tuesday.

While Chelsea’s league struggles have been well-documented, PSG has been quietly dominating French football. Laurent Blanc’s men are 24 points ahead of Monaco in Ligue 1, giving them the benefit of resting players as they choose. They will still be without dynamic fullback Serge Aurier, whose Periscope rant has led him to be indefinitely suspended by the club.

Chelsea’s back line is even more fractured. If the loss of Kurt Zouma didn’t hurt their chances enough, John terry will also be sidelined from Tuesday’s match after picking up an injury over the weekend against Newcastle. American Matt Miazga has traveled with the team, but is unlikely to make an appearance.
