Arsenal can quickly reverse their title fortunes with three points today when they host Swansea. Arsenal’s title hopes looked to be fading after the weekend’s loss to Manchester United, but Leicester’s lagging form has kept the door open with 11 matches remaining.
The Gunners will be without Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for the forseeable future, as a knee injury suffered against Barcelona will sideline him for an additional 6-8 weeks. Arsene Wenger has hinted that he might rest Danny Welbeck for today’s match, but Welbeck has had moderate success in past outings against Swansea. The England international has scored three goals in four Premier League matches against Swansea, but has played two matches in a week since returning from a 10-month absence.
Swansea started strong against Tottenham over the weekend, but eventually fell 2-1 to Spurs. The club doesn’t have any major injuries affecting the lineup, but manager Francesco Guidolin is dealing with a chest injury and may miss the match.
