The game may not feature the No. 1 seed, but Michigan State has certainly been playing like one.
Dubbed by many as the favorite to cut down the nets in Houston in three weeks, the Spartans have reeled off eight straight victories. They’ve done so in dominant fashion, too, as six of those wins came by at least 15 points.
However, the last team MSU lost to?
That would be Purdue, who topped the Spartans in an overtime thriller during the teams’ only 2016 meeting back on February 9. Dominant big man A.J. Hammons was a problem for Sparty in that one, as he racked up 19 points, 13 rebounds and eight blocks.
Per Ken Pomeroy’s efficiency rankings, these are two of the top 10 teams in the nation, so the rematch should be plenty compelling.
