Race Preview: Nyquist comes into the Kentucky Derby undefeated and is the favorite to win at Churchill Downs. He is coming off a big victory in the Florida Derby where he was able to defeat the favorite, Mohaymen, on his home track. Mario Gutierrez is Nyquist’s jockey, Doug O’Neill is the trainer and Paul Reddam owns the horse.

Exaggerator is first in line to challenge Nyquist in Saturday’s race. Kent and Keith Desormeaux will look to make history with Exaggerator by becoming the first jockey/trainer duo to win the Kentucky Derby as brothers.

Despite his disappointing 4th place finish at the Florida Derby, Mohaymen is third in the Kentucky Derby odds. The team is hoping the horse was impacted by the wet track and will have a bounce back race in Kentucky.
