Colombia got off to a great start to Copa America Centenario. Christian Zapata scored at the 7′ mark to give Colombia a 1-0 lead early in the match. Colombia entered the match as a heavy favorite over the United States.
It not only marked the first goal of the tournament, but the first international goal for Zapata. Colombia scored on a corner kick as Zapata took the pass and put it in the back of the net.
Colombia and the United States were the only match on opening night. Costa Rica and Paraguay play Saturday, June 4 in the other Group A match.
