The 2016 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft gets underway Thursday from Secaucus, New Jersey.
The three-day event will see over 1,200 players selected over 40 rounds.
The Philadelphia Phillies own the first pick, and Cincinnati Reds, Atlanta Braves, Colorado Rockies and Milwaukee Brewers round out the top five selections. Click here to get the full draft order.
Tomorrow’s first round begins at 7 p.m. Eastern and will be televised by the MLB Network. The station will show the first rounds as well as the first two supplemental rounds Thursday night. Rounds 3-40 will not be aired on TV, but you can stream them live for free at MLB.com.
But if you can’t be in front of a TV tonight, don’t worry. You can watch the draft online on your computer, tablet or mobile device.

If you’re not going to be able to watch Thursday’s coverage of the draft on TV, you can do so online. Simple log on to (or click the highlighted link) MLB.com/draft and you can stream it for free. You can do this from your computer, tablet or mobile device. Once there, click on the “tracker” tab to follow each selection as they’re made.
Coverage of Friday’s and Saturday’s Rounds 3-40 will only be shown on MLB.com.
That schedule is as follows:
Friday: Rounds 3-10, coverage beginning at 9:30 a.m. Eastern, on MLB.com/draft
Saturday: Rounds 11-40, coverage beginning at 9:30 a.m. Eastern, on MLB.com/draft
