It took over 115 minutes for there to be a goal in the Portugal and Croatia Round of 16 match. Quaresma rebounded a shot from Ronaldo for the first and only goal of the match.
The goal sent Portugal through as one of the final eight teams of the tournament. They will face Poland in Marseille on Thursday with the winner advancing to the semifinals.
The match was 0-0 at the end of 90 minutes. There are two 15 minute halves in extra time in Euro 2016. The goal occurred towards the end of the second half of extra time at the 116′ mark.
Ronaldo had taken a shot that went off the goal keeper. Quaresma was there to head the ball in for the winning goal.
