Italy and Sweden played a well-fought battle in their Group E battle today at the UEFA Euro 2016. The defensive battle remained scoreless for almost the entire game.
That changed, however, at around the 88 minute mark, when Éder successfully outran Sweden’s defense and made a perfect shot past goalkeeper Andreas Isaksson. The ball made its way into the corner of the net and suddenly, Italy was ahead.
Éder’s goal gave Italy a 1-0 lead, a lead that would not be relinquished in the last couple of minutes. Italy’s next match is on June 22nd, against the Republic of Ireland.
