After Kevin Owens won the WWE Universal Championship on Monday Night Raw this week, Finn Balor offered a sincere congratulations.

On Twitter, Balor posted a picture of himself with Owens, saying that they have been through it all together and soon will again.

Indeed, Balor and Owens were both on the NXT roster at the same time. Balor’s first ever title match was against Kevin Owens, taking place on March 25, 2014. Balor was ultimately unsuccessful in his attempt to nab Owens’ title for himself. But at The Beast in the East event in July 2014, Balor got a second chance, and this time he defeated Kevin Owens and won the NXT Championship.

On Twitter, Kevin Owens responded to Balor’s statement that they’ll go through it all again, saying that he looks forward to it.

Meanwhile, Rusev took to Twitter to offer a sincere congratulations…to himself for finishing Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.

Finn Balor became the first person to win the WWE Universal Championship at SummerSlam, but he was forced to relinquish the title one day later due to injuries. The title was vacant for a week, but Kevin Owens won it on August 29th in a Fatal 4-way match against Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Big Cass. Weirdly, Stephanie McMahon seemed to disregard Finn Balor completely during Raw, referring to the winner of this match as being the first Universal Champion.

Balor’s injuries ended up being more severe than initially thought; he experienced a 180 degree labrum tear and had to undergo a four hour surgery. It’s expected that he will be out for a minimum of six months, which would place his return in February 2017.

“Never in my life has six months felt like such a long time,” Balor recently said. “I don’t really know how I’m gonna cope with being out of the ring for that long.”

Based on their interactions on Twitter and on Raw last night, it seems that a feud between Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins is on its way. But when Balor returns, having him challenge Owens for the title would be a perfect storyline for them both.
