Just days before the opener, Fuente officially named Evans the starter. Although Evans had a successful debut as Virginia Tech's starting quarterback, this week presents an even bigger challenge. Bristol Motor Speedway is expected to have 150,000 fans on hand for this weekend’s primetime match-up between Tech and the Vols. The junior-college transfer told ESPN he doesn't have room to make some of the mistakes he made last week.

"I know I shouldn't make those mistakes because I know I'm better than that," Evans explained to ESPN.
