With just minutes remaining in the second quarter, things got heated in the USC-Alabama game as USC’s Jabari Ruffin appeared to deliberately step on an Alabama player below the belt. The stomp led Ruffin to be ejected after officials reviewed the play.
USC had started out well against Alabama, but as the second quarter went on Alabama began gaining steam. Ruffin’s teammate Adoree’ Jackson appeared to be helping the Alabama player up when Ruffin stopped on the player laying on the ground. The incident happened in front of a referee, and he was immediately flagged for it.
Ruffin is a redshirt-senior defensive end for USC. The play is likely to be looked at for a potential suspension.
