Pitching Matchup

The Cubs will hand the ball to Jake Arrieta. The 2015 Cy Young’s postseason inconsistency continued his last time out, as he gave up two home runs and four earned runs in a loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers. It marked the third time in five playoff starts he allowed four runs and didn’t make it through the sixth inning.

Still, Chicago looks to have the advantage in the starting pitching matchup, as Cleveland will counter with Trevor Bauer, who boasts little postseason experience.

After finishing the regular season with a 4.26 ERA and 1.31 WHIP during the regular season, the talented 25-year-old gave up three earned runs in just 4.2 innings in his first career postseason start, then was lifted in his lone ALCS showing after recording just two outs due to a finger injury.
