Less than a month from now, four of the best teams in college football will battle it out for a national championship.
Since the inception of the playoffs in the 2014 season, three of the four semifinal games and one of the two national title games have turned into blowouts, but the college football world has also been treated to a couple of thrillers, and the system has more or less produced a lot of entertainment.
With seemingly so much parity behind Alabama, the 2016-17 playoffs should be no different. While the Crimson Tide have established themselves as the clear top team in the country, Ohio State, Clemson, Washington and Michigan have all made strong cases as No. 2, while the winner of the Big Ten championship between Penn State and Wisconsin could also spoil the party.
