The Premier League ends 2016 in a fantastic fashion, as City travel to Anfield for an exciting clash between two of England’s best clubs.
With Chelsea streaking at the top of the table, Saturday’s battle between the two trailing teams carries extra significance. A Liverpool win would put the Reds four points above City, and take them just three points back of Chelsea. Liverpool host the Blues at the end of January.
Sergio Aguero has returned from his four-game suspension for City, and he’ll return to the lineup in a match that could be high-scoring. City have scored at least two goals in each match in his absence, and the club trail only Liverpool for most Premier League goals scored this season.
Liverpool defeated Stoke 4-1 earlier in the week, and will not be fully healthy for the primetime matchup. Klopp will be without injured Joel Matip and Phillipe Coutinho, but that doesn’t bother him. Klopp’s tactics were brilliant in his first two career meetings with City, winning both matches by a combined score of 7-1.
